Frank Peto with his first show
The (October 1-31st) show at Well's Landing Gallery in the Short North, 2006. This was a blast. My friend frank peto shown wanted to show for the 1st time and we ended up at the same gallery with a mutual friend named Gary Harper who is the owner and a photographer. Gary has great work and I was a clothed model for him in 2004. He used my images for sale at Well's Landing as well. It was very funny to be hanging my art, talking with the public then they could go and buy an image of me before they left which had been altered by a photoshop paint program. Was told that one photo of mine had lesbian appeal. Who knew??? Life is so funny, it must have been the buzz cut.
This show was also nice because it got Dan Ferlan another artist friend of mine out of his house, he paints full time and it is hard to reach him. That was another plus and got very good responses from people. It is hard culturally to interact with some of the soccer mom's from the suburbs because it is such a different world from what i live in, but none the less i invited them into my space, even if they didn't understand and thought i was from another country.
Frank is a very alive person and said he bought the clothes off someones back that day to wear to his opening. I thought that was terrific and he looked great too! Artist's lives are so interesting sometimes. Things went so well with Well's Landing that i was asked back for November where I am currently showing my Go! paintings. I created a new one which can only be seen in the gallery now. So stop by Well's Landing Gallery in the Short North and I hope to see everyone at the Gallery Hop Dec. 2, 2006!

My sun paintings from 2004
The Symphonic Heartbeats from 2005
These are the remaining photos from my show at Stauf's Coffee House Oct 1-31st, 2006. It felt really good to be helping out a friend of mine when the artist of the month didn't show up. Felt even better choosing my abstract work from 2004-2006 to showcase. I really liked how the show looked together. You don't know if different series will work together and they did. I kept my surrealist paintings at Well's Landing Gallery in the Short North. Funny how the Sun paintings lead to the Go! paintings and it worked. Got a lot of good feedback from coffee goers and kinda became a local celebrity for a minute. There would be a hush or murmur when I walked in the room to show another group of friends or potential buyers my work. It also felt very homey being in a very familiar place to me even though I had lived in NM and NYC in between my stays in Columbus. I was just grateful to give back to the community that supports me in Grandview. Plus, always great to hang out with Noah and Lindsay when I get a chance.

Stauf's coffee roasters, columbus, OH Oct. 2006
Hello all, sorry it has been a while, October was a helluva month. The city had Show Columbus and the opening of BoMA - Bar of Modern Art. I had 2 shows simultaneously, a one man show of 25 paintings at Stauf's and 4 paintings at Well's Landing Gallery in the Short North. I was in the October Gallery Hop.
Seen here is myself infront of 2 of my latest paintings, the Go! Paintings at Stauf's. Funny, I used to work here in 1998-99 and now I am a featured artist here. Felt really good and a little weird because so much has changed since then, but in a good way. Heard a fantastic techno band called the Avalanche play while I set up. Over the month period I brought in friends and aquaintences and directed people from BoMA to my show here. I am a gallery assistant there and try and sell their paintings, so after my schpeel about BoMA artists I'd ask them to visit my show. I got a good reception from people other than friends and it was a good time.
Things were bittersweet when I took the show down, there are so many memories there, old and now new. I'll have more photos up soon. Until next time.
