My favorite photo by Gary Harper in that shoot.

Coincidences is what I call this one. Have been painting away and super busy with life in general and looked around to see Go! all around me. The Go! paintings are a cultural phenomena. What is the U.S. about, Go, Go, Go! Being born and raised here, I feel we are always running around from the minute we wake up in the morning until we go to sleep at night. That is the background idea for my Go! Paintings because I end them with a pause button symbol.
What is also funny is I have a Go phone from cingular, listen to OK Go for music, and read Go Riverwalk out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. There is even a Go store at the Polaris Mall and sometimes I wear my pair of Go Softwear underwear. So many things in the America are To Go and wanted to capture that feeling of movement. In my paintings, I wanted to use line and symbols to represent a day, week, month, year, or someones life from their waking breath in the morning until the end of their day or lifetime. The paintings constantly go through life and death as a symbol for changes we make in our lives or are made for us. I like to poke fun at lifes contradictions and just play! There is a certain freedom in not taking life too seriously. I should talk, that was the hardest lesson for myself to learn....

What a great weekend! Went to Cleveland to visit with Paul Duda and have a photo taken of my latest artwork. The image will be used for postcards to promote the show and Paul took the photos for it with humor and a playful heart which captures the mood of my recent Go! paintings. Sorry no peeking yet!
It may have been 0 degrees but with all the friends and love in Cleveland it was hot! You gotta love a place that rips your shirt off on the dance floor and tells you to shake that ass, harder! Come on move it! I almost fell over shaking off all that ice from the past 2 weeks of work and sub zero weather. What a great place to stop for a while.
Frank Peto was there so we three Artists and a bunch of Pauls friends ran around for the evening and Sunday. It was just what the doctor ordered. Although, today my car is in the shop from all the wear and tear from the trip and cold. Oh well, that is the price to pay for a good time. Ha, ha!! I needed break from working and painting, working and painting, you get the idea. So I am very excited about getting some advertising done, ready to go for the March 8th show at Q Bar. Stay tuned...

Hey Folks, how are ya! I am sooo busy preparing for my next show and working full time. So all I can do is look at my bed because I am not sleeping in it! Wow, the stars must be lined up or something because everything is falling into place. I will be showing at "Q Bar" at the corner of 5th and Spring St.'s in downtown Columbus on March 8th! The reception will be from 6pm to 9pm in this modern loungy space. Went to support another artist there for his opening (Bowling). Just amazing photos a must see in the city!
So it is trying to stay warm now that the Midwestern winter hit with 0 degrees and painting, painting, painting! I kinda prefer painting the winter away. It makes me so charged for the Spring! Sold another painting to my collector and had a wonderful lunch with him on Sunday at the Max and Erma's in German Village. Life never stops to inspire me and encourage me to laugh, play, and grow. This is no depressed Artist this month. Hope everyone is staying warm and turning off the darn news to stay positive. Until later then. Look forward to seeing everyone on March 8th! Time to get back to work....
